The Empowering Women and Girls Project is a transformative initiative aimed at advancing gender equality (SDG 5) by improving access to education, fostering economic empowerment, and promoting human rights for women and girls in marginalized communities across Hyderabad, Multan, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad (Golra Station, Mahra Jaffar, Dreak Mohri, Johad). The project focuses on eliminating gender-based barriers, challenging discriminatory norms, and equipping women and girls with the skills and knowledge necessary for self-sufficiency and leadership.
THE PROJECT IS STRUCTURED AROUND THREE KEY PILLARS

Gender Equality
5,000+ women and girls sensitized through training sessions on gender equality, human rights, and political participation.
1,200+ women and girls educated on public healthcare services, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and maternal health.
700+ men and boys engaged through Men/Boys Clubs and Local Support Groups to challenge harmful gender norms and advocate for women’s rights.
Political participation training conducted to empower women and girls in decision-making processes.
Legal awareness sessions conducted to inform women about their rights, existing laws, and how to navigate legal systems.
240+ children (girls and boys) enrolled in secondary education through formal schools and Allama Iqbal Open University
51 out of school girls enrolled in open schools, providing flexible learning opportunities for marginalized communities
43 children mainstreamed into formal education after community mobilization efforts
Economic Development – Sustainable Livelihood Practices
Working towards economic empowerment by equipping women and girls with vocational and entrepreneurial skills

Social Campaigns & Legal Support
30,000+ people participated in social campaigns on gender equality, early marriages, and girls’ education.
Legal support services facilitated, helping women obtain birth certificates, CNICs, and other essential documentation through NADRA and local authorities.
Partnered with Women’s Rights Organizations (WROs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to tackle gender-based violence (GBV).
Worked with schools to implement gender-sensitive education policies.
Established gender equality committees and traditional leader groups to advocate for women’s rights.
