The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has indeed worsened with each passing day, with children being the most affected. The conflict has left thousands of children maimed or disabled, with many suffering from traumatic amputations, fractures, and other severe injuries.

According to UNICEF, thousands of children have lost one or two limbs within the first three months of the hostilities. The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that over 16,750 children have been killed, and more than 95,500 people have been injured.

The crisis has also resulted in the destruction of vital infrastructure, including schools and hospitals. Over 280 schools have been destroyed or damaged, disrupting the education of over 600,000 children. More than 120 hospitals and healthcare facilities have been damaged or destroyed, leaving thousands without access to medical care.

The Israeli government’s restrictions on humanitarian aid have exacerbated the crisis, depriving children of access to essential resources like food, water, and medical care. As of September 16, 38 Palestinians, mostly children, have died of malnutrition and dehydration in hospitals, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The international community must take immediate action to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and work towards a lasting peace that prioritizes the well-being and safety of all civilians, particularly children.
